Emma Turns One | a first birthday cake smash session

Oh, get ready.  You’re about to see the most perfectly styled, beautiful cake smash session on the internet right now.  Emma’s mom absolutely NAILED it with all of the details!  I believe the phrase, “I can’t even!” would be appropriate right about now.

   If you have followed my work for long, you know that I am a lifestyle photographer and do most of my sessions in homes or outside (like we did for her 6 month and 9 month sessions), but when Emma’s mom asked about doing a studio cake smash session, I was so excited.  I worked as a studio photographer for two years and it was fun to be back in that environment. (Big shout out to Space One2One in Mesa for their amazing rental facility!). I loved the crisp, clean backdrop and the simplicity of the session that draws your eyes straight to sweet Emma. I’ll say this, as much as I love shooting cake smash sessions outside, I’m kind of in love with the way this session went. I see more studio sessions in the future for Kara Knapp Photography!
