I got my first DSLR camera for my 16th birthday and had a deep down dream of becoming a photographer one day. But I was scared. I took classes, did shoots for friends, even came up with brand colors and ideas for a website, but I never actually believed I could do it. So I didn't.

I worked several other jobs, all the while watching photographers I admired blossom in their calling and wishing it could be me. I kept shooting just for fun but never had the courage to take the next step. And then it happened.

I was presented with the opportunity of a life time to work alongside another seasoned professional as a newborn photographer. And I took the step. I dove headfirst into a world that I had been longing to enter and it was hard. But I loved it!

Four years later, I have photographed over 100 babies and love my job more than ever.  I branched out on my own and started Kara Knapp Photography in 2017 and have never looked back.  I am living a dream that I was once afraid to hope for and it feels so good.

When I'm not shooting or editing, I'm usually cooking something, cleaning something, or let's be honest, making a run to Target for the fourth time in one week.

I'm married to the sweetest Arizona boy and together we have two beautiful daughters. Audrey who left this world just shortly after she entered it, and Kennedy, our miracle rainbow baby who bring us more joy than we have ever known.

I'm a total home body and have a deep appreciation for simple moments and quiet days. My idea of a wild Friday night is watching a movie and being in bed by 9:30.
(who's with me?)

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to learn a little more about me.
